The picture above left was taken at Channels Golf Club and shows the disco equipment with no overhead lighting during the wedding breakfast.    The robotic lights pop up for the evening party.  The picture above right was taken in the Rosewood Suite at Stock Brook Manor Golf and Country Clud and shows a subtle blend of white, cream and light gold.

We would love to help you on your wedding or special day and for us to give you the best service, please be aware that we respond fastest if you give us your phone number and the date of your event.

Now for something completely different -  The NSPCC

At the English Toastmasters Association members meeting on Tuesday 21st October 2008, we discussed working for charities.  This is an odd ball in the way that I have tackled it.  (and yes I am a toastmaster as well as a dj)

Last night (23rd October 2008) I had a call from the NSPCC who needed help and fast.  They wanted a fire breather to do a stunt at the Colchester United Football Club at 10.00am today (24th October).  Well here is the photo of me in action.  I'm the guy breathing fire at the back.  This picture was taken by David at www.stourvalleyphotography.com     Now where does this lead to. 

They are having a Ball on Saturday 29th November 2008 at the Colchester United Football Club stadium.  I will now be their toastmaster and here's hoping that someone out there may buy some tickets for an excellent night out in aid of the NSPCC.  If you would like to come and watch me work, just for a change, here I am at a charity function and I would love to see you all there.  Details of how to get your tickets are shown below and thank you for reading this and considering having a ball!!!!!

We went through to the national finals and were the highest placed Disco company in the country and in the top three for entertainment The finals were held at Claridge's on 20th February 2008.  The awards are held to recognize excellence within the wedding industry.

Paul and Lucie, whose wedding at Hylands House, Chelmsford, Essex we worked at on Friday 23rd May 2008, providing music and sound systems for the civil ceremony, wedding breakfast and the evening party.      The text message reads as follows "Hi Richard,  Lucie and I just wanted to say thank you for everything that you did for us yesterday.  It was a brilliant day that our families will be talking about for years to come.  We'll be in touch when we get back from our honeymoon. x

 

These thank you details are from Tony & Louise's wedding, wedding breakfast and evening party at Channels on Friday 14th March 2008 and there was a power cut in the area, but we carry a battery backed up system which runs with an excellent quality sound, (made by BOSE, so it would do).      Tony and I would like to say a huge thank you for all that you did for us on our wedding day.  You were a life saver with the music especially during the power cuts.  Without your professionalism and equipment we would have had a very different ceremony and evening reception.    We thank you for playing our music for the ceremony, this made it even more special for us.  

We really enjoyed ourselves and all our guests said they had a great time and that is down to you and your disco.

However, the icing on the cake had to be the inflatable guitars which you threw out during the night, everyone thought it was brilliant, made dancing to Queen so much more interesting.

fun wedding partyJodie & Matt's wedding at Vaulty Manor on Friday 17th August 2007 and an e-mail which reads as follows - Hi Richard, hope you are well.  Got back from our honeymoon Sunday night, had a great 2 weeks.  Just wanted to drop you a line to say thanks for your efforts on our wedding day.  It really helped to have you there to talk to, it made me feel everything was under control and that calmed me down a lot.  During the day you were exceptionally helpful & polite, many of our friends and family commented on this, Thank you.   The evening was fantastic throughout, although our personal highlight was the impromtu ''rave section'' in the middle of the evening, we spent the next evening with all our close friends and family before we went away and they were all asking if we had arranged this with you.   We of course said NO, but we loved it, so did everyone else judging by the dance moves we saw being displayed for all to see.  Genius - is this the norm for you or did you pick up the vibe and know we would all love it?  Either way it doesn't matter, it went down a storm, it will be one of our lasting memories for sure!!     Anyway, like I said, THANKS. 'Lynda and I would like to thank you and your team for a tremendous show at our 60th birthday bash at Hylands House last Friday 25th May.  Your choice of music was superb and blended perfectly with the atmosphere in each room.  To this add your discreet management of the guests, meant that Lynda and I could relax and mingle with our guests knowing that you were quietly keeping an experienced eye on all of the needs of our guests.

Then the disco.  Your skill and smooth professionalism as a DJ was only surpassed by your collection of music which had all the guests amazed!  We have never seen our friends dance so much or so enthusiastically.  A big thank you again Richard for your help and advice and your enthusiastic extra input you gave in managing the evening, which made our enjoyment so much more appreciated.  Watch out for our booking of Lynda's seventieth.

Our main music library is based at our headquarters where we try to keep all of the most popular music in stock, but in the unlikely event of us not having what you want, we will buy it.  Our complete library has more than 212,892 titles, which we believe is the largest music library in the mobile disco business.  We keep updating the catalogue as new music arrives.  There is movement on a regular basis, as we continue to sort the music into appropriate sections.  The shelves on the main wall are 8 feet high and it is so good to have all our music library in one room.  This is only a part of our music stock.  On our main rig, we take out over 28 boxes of music, this equates to over 48,000 titles (please see the picture below for an indication of how much music we carry).

We are very lucky to have the support of David Court www.courtoncamera.co.uk who has updated the library picture, to give you a better indication of the size of our music collection.

We have a comfortable area for meeting our brides and grooms (please see pictures below). You can go through your plans for your day, discussing your music and your instructions, so that your day will be how you want it to be.  You are able to view past weddings that we have worked at, on a very large screen (84") with surround sound, to help you get ideas about your wedding day and what you would like us to do for you.  We have re-equipped the room to make it more comfortable and offer further services.

 

Equipment For Hire

A range of equipment to help you with ideas for your wedding day is available for you to choose from.  The following items are only a taster of what we are able to offer and if you have any special requests, we may be able to help you.  Please see our new list from the menu, new for 2008.

4 Panel Screen

Just over 8 feet long and upholstered in white crushed velvet.  Each of the panels is a little over 2 feet by 6 feet.  The screen may be supplied in any colour of your choice (subject to range availability) and may be used as a 2, 3 or 4 panel screen.  This is a quality built piece of equipment and the upholstry matches the coverings for your disco or your wedding.

Sound equipment for hire

The picture above is one of our smaller high quality sound systems (being used at a wedding breakfast at Layer Marney Tower).  This system may be used for music during your wedding or wedding breakfast and may be supplied with two or more high quality UHF radio microphones for the speeches and a pair of speakers which may be pole mouted and used inside or out. These systems are available for hire from around £100.00.
